Dianne Ouellette is an Independent film/video-maker who holds both a BFA (1995) in Film and Video and a BA (1993) in Theatre from the University of Regina. She was born in Prince George, BC and as a child moved to a small town in Saskatchewan. Dianne has completed a diversity of film and video projects over many years while living in Regina, SK. As well as being known as an Independent filmmaker she has worked in the corporate training video world for over 10 years. She has worked in a variety of positions in the film industry as a producer, writer, director, cinematographer, videographer, and editor.
Dianne has spent the last twelve years being involved with the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative and in the past has been the editor of Splice Magazine and served as President for two years.
Dianne’s films have been screened internationally in such places as Paris, Croatia, India, Italy, San Francisco, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Telluride, Vancouver, Victoria and Toronto. She has won numerous awards for her work such as Best of Saskatchewan at the Yorkton International Short Film Festival 2000 for her film Daisy, and Best 16mm Film at the $100 film festival in Calgary (1998 & 2001) for her films december and sIgh.
One of Dianne’s most recent independent projects is a film that delves into the world of bipolar disorder. She is working on an experimental film entitled; Inherit, which deals with family secrets and racial identity issues. She is also entering in pre-production on a new television series entitled Truth or Tale.
